Daytona International Speedway becomes the first NASCAR racetrack to feature Carrier-Class Wi-Fi™--Installation marks the most comprehensive Wi-Fi deployment in NASCAR history

SUWANEE, Ga., Feb. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ARRIS International plc (NASDAQ: ARRS) today redefined the NASCAR experience by delivering Carrier-Class Wi-Fi  to the most popular fan locations at Daytona International Speedway's (DIS) new motorsports stadium. This installation is the most comprehensive Wi-Fi deployment in NASCAR history.

As part of a multi-track agreement with International Speedway Corporation (ISC), ARRIS Global Services integrated, designed and installed a new technology framework to bring high-speed Wi-Fi to tens of thousands of fans on raceday. DIS is the first NASCAR racetrack to feature Carrier-Class Wi-Fi, which will give this season's fans unprecedented wireless speeds and coverage to the track.

ARRIS's technology and services already power the crucial communications for the NASCAR teams at the track, and now they will revolutionize the fan experience. Fans will be able to access high-speed Wi-Fi and new services throughout the concourses, hospitality areas, suites, and neighborhoods along the nearly mile-long frontstretch. Fans will also be able to connect to ISC's Wi-Fi network in the Midway and Sprint FANZONE to engage with friends over social media, share their experiences at the track, enjoy new engagement locations such as the DAYTONA Rewards Stations, and use  services, including the new version of the DIS mobile app. ARRIS is planning to expand Wi-Fi coverage to additional areas of the property later in the year.

"DIS boasts the largest social media following of any racetrack on the NASCAR circuit. Sharing experiences and being able to stay connected at the track is an important part of the fan experience," said Joie Chitwood III, President, Daytona International Speedway. "We are thrilled to partner with ARRIS as part of the DAYTONA Rising redevelopment project to provide fans with a reliable and high-speed wireless network that keeps them connected."

ARRIS's Wi-Fi technology infrastructure also includes a security system to ensure data is encrypted and protected as necessary. The company's advanced monitoring system makes DIS Wi-Fi very reliable by proactively identifying potential issues, so they can be resolved before they occur.

"ARRIS is leading the technology evolution of DIS through the DAYTONA Rising redevelopment project and revolutionizing the fan experience," said Ron Coppock, President, International Sales and Global Marketing, ARRIS. "Through our partnership with ISC, we are able to provide secure, reliable and high-quality Wi-Fi  to thousands of fans at DIS, enabling them to take part in the action. We look forward to providing the same seamless experience to multiple ISC tracks in the next couple of years."

ARRIS's solution leverages the Aptilo Service Management Platform™, Benu Networks Mobile Edge Gateway, Ruckus ZoneFlex™ access points and virtual SmartZone™ WLAN controller, and Skyline Communications Dataminer End-to-End Multi-Vendor Network Management and OSS platform.  ISC benefits from ARRIS's Global Services integrated planning, design, and implementation services as well as its ongoing solution support.
