The presence of COVID-19 has shined a spotlight on the digital inequities existing throughout our nation’s communities. From students being unable to access their schoolwork remotely to hybrid workers whose jobs become at risk due to spotty Wi-Fi, it has become apparent during this recent crisis that reliable and affordable Wi-Fi has become a necessity. In this presentation, the speaker will share how some public sector agencies have tackled this challenge head-on though establishing affordable or free community Wi-Fi. In addition to addressing the technical solutions, the speaker will also share free resources that have helped over 300 public agencies this year navigate, secure, and use public funding to pay for their digital equity solutions. |
