This course is only available as part of your DOCSIS/CMTS/DAA subscription. The R-PHY Overview and Implementation instructor-led training course presents the CommScope Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) Remote PHY solution. The course covers the benefits of Remote PHY, a hardware overview, Remote PHY protocols, Hybrid Chassis Mode considerations, and a hands-on lab for basic configuration of the Unified Remote PHY system.  Commands that are used to update, troubleshoot, and maintain the Remote PHY network are also covered and demonstrated.

  • Recognize how implementing Remote PHY is a phase of the decentralization and virtualization that will enable MSOs to handle ever-increasing bandwidth demands.
  • Identify and describe key system components
  • Review CableLabs defined protocols that are used in a Remote PHY system


Prerequisites:  A basic understanding of CATV systems, RF plant fundamentals and data networking. The student should also have DOCSIS knowledge and prior working experience with the E6000 CER. E6D201: E6000 CER Operations instructor-led course and Understanding of DOCSIS (TEC202, E6D103, and/or TEC301 and TEC302)
