This eLearning (online) training course is a post-requisite to the E6D246 and E6D247 HLX Domain Manager Flexible Template instructor-led training course. It presents the steps that are taken to modify an HLX Domain Manager Flexible template. It is imperative that the individual registered for this online training course have a strong understanding of the Command Line Interface (CLI) with hands-on experience configuring an RD3 Series Remote MACPHY or a CMTS such as the E6000 CER.

Audience

CATV head-end personnel, network engineers, and field personnel responsible for networks that provide high-speed data-over-cable services.

Objectives

• Recognize the different Flexible template states.

• Identify the Runtime configuration steps that comprises a Flexible template update.

• Understand how Flexible template versions are created

• Discover how to view, compare, and revert Flexible template versions.

• Learn how to Promote a modified template to the saved state.

Course Content

   One lesson:

• Modify a template
• Side-by-side comparison of two template versions
• Ability to revert to last saved version
• Apply edited template to one RMD Element
• Provision the edited template to one RMD Element
• Test and Evaluate results of the provisioning
• Apply edited template to all RMD Elements
• Provision the edited template to all RMD Elements
• Promote to create a new saved startup configuration

Course Specifics

Prerequisites: A basic understanding of CATV systems, RF plant fundamentals and data networking, and a strong understanding of the Command Line Interface (CLI) with hands-on experience configuring an RD3 Series Remote MACPHY or a CMTS such as the E6000 CER.
