Distributed Architecture

Distributed Architecture, similar to Centralized, provides a single-level split architecture.  However, the splitters would be distributed throughout the serving area as opposed to a consolidated FDH location. Distributed splitting positions the splitter closer to the end customer and greatly reduces the need for high optical fiber count cables throughout the network.

Pros
  • Centralized Fiber Configuration Location
  • Good Network Flexibility
  • Reduced Fiber Count Solution, Reuse of Fibers
  • Compatible with Legacy OSS/BSS Systems (small number of SKUs repeated)
